Why does PayHope start with cashback?

Building an app that genuinely helps people act on causes that matter, without asking them to spend more, means finding a business model that doesn't rely on generosity alone. That's why PayHope starts with cashback.

A model that doesn't depend on generosity

Many charitable initiatives ask their users to give directly, on top of their regular spending. That's a real barrier: not everyone has the means, or the regular willingness, to put out extra money for a cause, however legitimate it may be.

Cashback changes the logic: the money that funds impact already exists, in the affiliate commissions brands pay to their partners. PayHope positions itself to capture part of that existing value and share it between the user and a cause, rather than asking for an extra financial effort.

Building in public, ahead of launch

PayHope is being built throughout 2026, with a clear goal: a launch coming soon on the App Store and Google Play. Before that date, a first web version is being tested with a small group of future users, the "Hopers," to refine the product before opening it up more broadly.

This blog documents that process: how cashback works, the choices that shape PayHope, and the charitable themes we want to support. The idea is simple: stay transparent about what we're building, at every stage.
